Queer Enough? A Quintimacy workshop session (with certification!)

Have you ever worried that you’re not really “queer enough”? Not enough to use the word. Not enough to claim your place in the community. Maybe not enough to attend events for queer people. What if you haven’t quite worked yourself out yet (have any of us?) and you don’t want to seem like a tourist?

But what does it mean to be queer? And what does it mean to be queer enough? In this exciting new interactive workshop, we’ll begin to look at these questions. We’ll give you tools to help you think about your relationship to things like your sex, gender and sexuality. You'll have the chance to share your reflections, or not, depending how you feel in a combination of breakout rooms and the main zoom room. 

We hope you’ll go away feeling more secure in your queerness, understanding yourself a little better, and feeling more able to take your place in queer community.

Optional - there will be a 'Queer Enough' certificate available (digitally) to any attendee who wants one!

This workshop is delivered by David:

David (they/them) is an LGBT+ activist and trade unionist. They have many years of experience running training sessions on understanding gender and sexuality for people who are queer, questioning or just want to be better allies. They have also delivered workshops on trans-inclusive feminism for organisations such as the Women in Higher Education Network and universities including Manchester, Loughborough and the London School of Economics.

Beck Thom (they/them) will be present and hosting the Zoom call. 

Confidentiality

Like all Quintimacy online spaces, we ask that you respect the privacy and confidentiality of the attendees and the stories and sharing, and do not share outside of the call who was here, and what they shared.

Screens

We ask that screens are on, at least until you have introduced yourself. It will be ideal if you join on a laptop/desktop rather than a mobile, because there will be slides to view and it is also easier to see all the other attendees on a larger screen. 

Recording

This call will NOT be recorded.

Who can attend?

Adults 18+ who identify with 'queer and trans' even if they have some 'queer enough' feels or doubts. 

Refunds/cancellations

Sorry we are not offering refunds for this call. 

Payment

Payment is on a sliding scale. Please pay what you can afford and consider adding a supporters payment if you can, to keep Quintimacy sustainable.

• This is a clothes on Zoom call.

• No sexual activity on the call.

• Listen to others and respect them even if their views and experiences are different from yours.

• Take responsibility for yourself and your self-care needs.

• Our views and discussions do not happen in a social or political vacuum and we take into account that power, culturally embedded advantages and structural inequalities inevitably inform our perspectives and identities.

• If you are behaving in a way that is disrespecting boundaries of the call or disrupting the experience for others, Beck reserves the right to remove you from the call (no refund would be given in this case).
