Rachael Ball is an acclaimed graphic novelist with two published works to her name. She began her cartooning career with the cult comic Deadline in the 1990s. Her debut graphic novel, The Inflatable Woman (Bloomsbury, 2015), was named one of The Guardian's Best Graphic Novels of 2015 and featured in Paul Gravett's Top 10 graphic novels list. Her second graphic novel, Wolf (SelfMadeHero, 2018), was praised by the Times Literary Supplement as "wildly inventive, poignant, and elegiac." Rachael is currently working on her next Arts Council-funded GN, The Patsy Papers.

With over 16 years experience teaching art in secondary schools and a long history as a graphic novel tutor, Rachael is a highly experienced tutor. She is deeply committed to her students, offering both emotional support and expert guidance. She ensures that students tap into their unique creative ideas while grounding them in strong visual and narrative storytelling principles. For the past seven years, she has taught the popular course Graphic Novel Your Life at the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, in addition to courses at The Art Academy, The City Lit, Anglia Ruskin, and the Arvon. Her wealth of teaching experience ensures students receive the best possible support in developing their craft.
