My Hands Are My Voice

Events list

My Hands Are My Voice brings the once-hidden drawings and textile works of Diana Francis (1951–2019) into dialogue with embroideries by her daughter, textile artist Rachelle Francis. Shaped by pattern, repetition and gesture, the exhibition traces a shared visual language across generations, where making becomes a means of expression beyond words. Alongside these works, an interactive installation of cloth books created with communities across Kent, with an accompanying headphone piece by composer Tom Adams drawn from workshop recordings, expands the conversation outward. Together, the exhibition reveals how hands can hold memory, connection and voice.

Join us for a programme of talks, workshops and events taking place throughout the exhibition.
