Join low flutes specialist Carla Rees for a workshop on playing alto, bass and contrabass flutes. Following on from our popular Low Flutes Day in 2016, Carla is returning to Sheffield to run a day suitable for all flautists (aged 16+) - whether you're a complete beginner at low flutes, play one now and then, or have lots of experience with 'big flutes'. This day will help you with repertoire advice, tone production and technical problems to extended techniques, projection and intonation. There will also be plenty of ensemble playing, trying out some of Carla's fabulous arrangements for groups of low flutes, and putting on an informal performance at the end of the day as part of Make Music Day 2020.
Bring questions, instruments and any repertoire you would like to work on. Some instruments will be available to play if you don't have your own.
Coffee break refreshments will be included (tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes) - please let us know on the booking form if you have any dietary requirements or allergies, so we can provide nice things for everyone!
