Join low flutes expert Carla Rees for our online workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge on the 'big flutes'. Following on from Carla's popular Low Flute Days in Sheffield, UK, and online sessions in July 2020 which were attended by players from around the world, these are aimed at players aged 16+ who already have some experience of playing alto, bass or contrabass. Both workshops will consist of a mixture of Q&As, Masterclass-type sessions, discussions and demonstrations of techniques which you can try out in your own home (with or without your microphone switched on!).
Carla Rees is a performer (low flutes, Kingma system and baroque flutes), arranger and composer. Her career focusses on collaboration and developing the dialogue between composer, performer and flute maker in order to extend and enhance the repertoire. She has premiered several hundred works in the UK and internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. She is Artistic Director of rarescale and her original works and arrangements for flutes are published by Tetractys Publishing.
