A VIP behind-the-scenes visit to the racing yard of Jo Davis as part of National Racehorse Week. Guests will have a tour of the facilities, enjoy meeting the stable stars and see the care and attention the racehorses receive on a daily basis.
Jo’s involvement in the racing industry spans 25 years, starting when she began riding out for Alan Blackmore, a small trainer in Hertfordshire, at the age of 14. Her interest and love of horses started at an early age (it is said that she could ride before she could walk!) and Jo specialises in understanding how horses think and catering to their individual needs.
Timings:
- 10.00 arrival and meet Jo and the team
- 10.30 watch horses working on the gallop and look round the stable yard after
- 12 noon close
Jo has 27 stables that are bright and airy, an indoor lunge area, a two and a half furlong oval canter and a 6 furlong straight gallop. Her schooling fences and hurdles sit within 400 acres of beautiful pasture and riding.
