Honey and Soul is what you get when you take a group of soft tender babes and let them take you from quiet, soothing, lullabies all the way to rock and roll. It’s something like unleashing the feminine power in three part harmony while also laughing with your friends about fart jokes. They keep it real, bring the heart, and love each other through the music. Three parts Burlington, VT, two parts Cambridge, MA, Honey and Soul is an indie/folk/soul quintet with Hannah Hausman (she/her) on vocals and guitar, Cleo Flemming (she/her) on vocals and cello, Lexi Ugilow (she/they) on vocals and keys, Logan Beck (he/him) on bass, and Zack Santarsiero (he/him) on drums.
The group formed in 2017 around Hannah’s original music and has been growing and evolving ever since. In 2023, Honey and Soul released their first full length album, called “Lady King,” a body of work compiled around the question of what it means to be vulnerable and why that might be important. Later that year they released a studio single called, “Pleasure,” a reminder that not only is it ok to experience pleasure, but in fact, it is holy. Honey and Soul has a few songs baking in the oven, and look forward to serving them to you as steaming hot delicious song-pies sometime soon.
beccs (Insta | Website | Bandcamp | Spotify | Youtube)
beccs is an alternative pop artist hailed as one of NYLON Magazine’s “favorite cool girls”, A John Lennon Songwriting Finalist, and an “indie-pop vocalist of astonishing candor” by the HuffPost. Holding up a mirror to herself and society at large, beccs confronts and heals audiences with a soul-stirring voice that is as dynamic as it is vulnerable. Steeped in music from birth, fearless on stage from childhood, beccs – Becca Gastfriend at the time – was an innate songbird. She moved to New York to study acting at Tisch School of the Arts, where she began gigging and making her first record. Blending a playful modern songwriting with a powerful voice akin to classic 60’s Laurel Canyon, the indie pop artist has been critically acclaimed by Atwood Magazine, KCRW, Refinery29, NYLON, Huffington Post Queer Voices, Popdust, LADYGUNN and featured on The BUILD Series with Monet X Change from RuPaul’s Drag Race for her queer-inclusive Christmas music video "Before This Christmas Ends". The SXSW Official Artist recently opened for Pussy Riot at Adhoc x Audiofemme’s unofficial 2024 SXSW showcase and wrapped a nationwide tour supporting Pomme at venues including Webster Hall and The Regent. beccs’ latest EP stay moist features collaborators including queer feminist icon Bitch and Oscar Nominated Ian Chang of Son Lux. stay moist EP, which charted #1 on CJSF 90.1 FM in British Columbia and was featured in KCRW’s “5 Songs To Hear This Week”, is a bold, edgy indie pop record “bursting with color, soulful vocals…[and] a hook you won’t get out of your head.” –The Daily Skimm.
