We are delighted to welcome Eurosport's lead cycling commentator Carlton Kirby, the Voice of Cycling, to the Boxmoor Playhouse in Hemel Hempstead, for an evening of tall tales and frank opinions from his 25 years’ covering the sport.
In a funny and revealing evening for all cycling fans, Carlton will be sharing his front-row experiences from the Tour de France and other big races – plus the lessons he’s learned from life on the road, as a bon viveur in budget hotels across Europe.
This event was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 and we are delighted finally to have the opportunity to come to Hemel on the eve of the 2022 Tour de France. This is now Carlton's only confirmed live show of 2022.
Carlton Kirby has been in the commentary box for a golden age of British cycling and the evening will also include stories of his not-always-happy dealings with British stars from Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome to Mark Cavendish.
Carlton will be in conversation with former Procycling magazine writer Duncan Steer.
Carlton will be also be signing copies of his recent book 'Magic Spanner: The World of Cycling According to Carlton Kirby'.
This is a chance to see one of TV's most entertaining commentators and raconteurs in an intimate venue. There are limited tickets available, so do please book early to guarantee your place.
Early Bird tickets are £12, or £20 including a book. Full price tickets will be £15 or £24.99 with a book. Seats are unallocated but the Boxmoor is an intimate venue with no bad seats.
