Description

Unfortunately, we have had to postpone this event. Ticket-holders have been notified and refunded and we will announce a new date as soon as possible.

We are delighted to welcome Derek Pringle back to Chelmsford for a special evening of on- and off-field tales from his time with the legendary England team of Botham, Boycott, Gower and co - and the all-conquering Essex team of the 80s.

After retiring as a player, Derek has gone on to write on cricket for The Telegraph, The Independent and now, Metro, and there can be few observers so well placed to comment candidly on England's recent ups and downs and the last 40 years of cricket in general.

Join us as at the Chelmsford Social Club in an entertaining and revealing evening for all cricket fans.

The Chelmsford Social Club is 12 minutes' walk from both the Essex county ground (where the New Zealand touring team are playing the first game of their tour during the day) and Chelmsford railway station. There will be a chance to ask your own questions.

Derek Pringle will be in conversation with Duncan Steer, former editor of Spin cricket magazine and previously host of events with Michael Vaughan, Marcus Trescothick and many other guests from sport, entertainment and beyond.

Early tickets are £12 or £23 including a copy of Derek's acclaimed memoir, Pushing the Boundaries (RRP: £14.99).

Full price tickets are £15 or £27 including a book .

Praise for Derek Pringle's Pushing the Boundaries

"Anecdotes are funny, original and astounding, often all three...He [Pringle] has delivered with interest on his promise to avoid a bog-standard, self-serving work; if he pushed boundaries in his career he has flattened them completely with this honest addition to cricket literature." - The Cricketer

"A fascinating and hilarious read" - Daily Telegraph

"A feast of anecdotes" - The Observer

"Eye-popping and hilarious" - The Guardian
