We are delighted to welcome Steve Cummings as he launches his autobiography, 'The Break: Life as a Cycling Maverick' - the story of his journey from growing up on The Wirral to winning stages of the Tour de France and and now, becoming sports manager of Team Ineos, one of the biggest team in the pro peloton.
An Olympic silver medallist on the track at the Athens games of 2004, Steve joined Team Sky in its first year (2010) and went on to win stages at both the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana, as well as the 2016 Tour of Britain. One of the most popular and admired cyclists of his generation, Steve rode until he was 38 and, having retired in 2019, took up his new role as directeur sportif at Ineos-Grenadiers this season.
Having raced with and against riders including Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas - and been in the middle of the action as Ineos DS at this year's Tour de France - Steve is perfectly placed to give an inside view of the professional peloton of the last 20 years.
Steve will be in conversation with former Procycling magazine writer, Duncan Steer.
Please join us for a night of revealing and entertaining chat for all cycling fans. There will be a chance to ask your own questions.
