***** March 14, 9am: 4 tickets left******
We are delighted to welcome cycling star Steve Cummings as he launches his autobiography, 'The Break: Life as a Cycling Maverick' - the story of his journey from growing up on The Wirral to winning stages of the Tour de France and and now, becoming sports manager of Team Ineos.
Our first event with Steve at Heswall Hall in December sold out very quickly and we have now arranged this follow-up for everyone who could not get in first time round.
Steve will be in conversation with former Procycling magazine writer, Duncan Steer.
Our event finds Steve mid-preparation for this year's Tour - and freshly returned from the previous week's Paris-Nice. So, this is a rare opportunity to hear from someone at the very frontline of the sport during the season, and to ask him your own questions.
Of course, Heswall Hall has a full bar and we will have food available on the night - Thai Chicken Curry - but do please reserve dinner in advance when you book your ticket, if you would like to eat at the venue.
Steve is one of the biggest names in British cycling. An Olympic silver medallist on the track at the Athens games of 2004, Steve joined Team Sky in its first year (2010) and went on to win stages at both the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana, as well as the overall title at the 2016 Tour of Britain. One of the most popular and admired cyclists of his generation, Steve rode until he was 38 and, having retired in 2019, took up his new role as directeur sportif at Ineos-Grenadiers last season.
Having raced with and against riders including Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas - and been in the middle of the action as Ineos DS at last year's Tour de France - Steve is perfectly placed to give an inside view of the professional peloton of the last 20 years.
Until March 10, tickets are £13 - or £27 including a book (RRP £20).
Ticket-holders can also pre-order dinner for the evening, from the menu below, for just £8.50 per person. Please message us after ordering to let us know which option you would prefer. Please also let us know in advance if you have any extra dietary requirements.
