From Punk to Pulp: Nick Banks book launch event
Nick Banks shares stories from his life as drummer with Pulp, as he launches his new Omnibus Books memoir, 'So It Started There: From Punk to Pulp'.
Nick's book recalls his journey from being a punk, then a goth and then becoming, in 80s Sheffield, first a fan of Pulp and then their drummer. Having first formed in 1978, Pulp finally had huge mainstream success 15 years later and Nick's memoir reflects on the years spent chasing success, touring triumphs and horrors and the process of writing and recording their most famous albums.
Nick Banks will be in conversation with journalist and Pulp fan Duncan Steer, recently host of events with Baxter Dury, Pat Nevin and Nick Lowe.
There will be a chance to ask your own questions.
Early tickets are £13 with a book-and-ticket offer of £25 (Book RRP is £20). Concessions are £10. Books will be available for sale for the full price on the evening.
'Nick Banks is the time-keeper of Pulp, and within these covers are the early times, the good times, the not-so-good times and the WTF times. Do You Remember the First Time? Nick does. Great stuff.' - Jarvis Cocker
