Responsible AI for Mental Health Workshop [Hybrid]
Thu 12 Sep 2024 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
America Square Conference Centre, 17 Crosswall London, EC3N 2LB
Description
Join our Responsible AI for Mental Health Workshop, for a day filled with insightful discussions on what the application of responsible AI means for the mental health sector.
This is a RAi UK supported initiative that will connect experts in mental health, AI, public health and psychology from across academia, government, industry and the third sector. The workshop’s aim is to collectively discuss what responsible use of AI means for the domain of mental health, moving this important conversation forward whilst identifying key challenges and signposting promising future directions of travel.
This event will have a number of international keynote speakers and panel members with different perspectives, such as ethics, mental health, policymaking, regulation, industry and computer science. There will be a set of keynotes and interactive panel discussions with plenty of time for Q&A. We want to encourage attendees to raise their voice and give their own insights and opinions on this timely topic, so apart from Q&A sessions, we will also have direct feedback channels through digital tools that attendees , both online or in-person, can use to give their input on the topic.
This is the first of a series of events of the RAi UK-funded International Partnership project RAI4MH between the University of Southampton and the Institute for Experiential AI @ Northeastern University. We hope the collective discussions and feedback from the day can inform policy guidelines to help the uptake of AI in the mental health sector is done ethically and responsibly, and this is your chance to give your input.
The workshop will take place on September 12th, 2024 in the beautiful America Square Conference Centre venues in central London. Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided to attendees, as well as a drinks reception for networking at the end of the day. The event is hybrid with the possibility of attending online, with open channels to also provide input and ask questions. The venue has accessibility access and restrooms.
Due to limited room capacity, we ask interested people to only register if they are sure they are able to attend. If you register and finally can't make it, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can free the spot for someone else in the waiting list.
Join us in conversation with more than 12 international keynotes and panellists from all across the spectrum, including, Ricardo Baeza-Yates (Northeastern University), Aynsley Bernand (Kooth Plc.), Aminat Adebiyi (IBM Research, NY), Stuart Pearson (Head of Innovation, Citizens Advice), Elvira Pérez Vallejos (University of Nottingham), Joseph Connor (CarefulAI) and Maria Liakata (Queen Mary, University of London), among others!
Registration for in-person attendance closes on September 4th!
Event organised by Rafael Mestre (University of Southampton), Annika M. Schoene (Northeastern University) and Stuart E. Middleton (University of Southampton), with funding from RAi UK and support from the Centre for Machine Intelligence (CMI) and Centre for Democratic Futures (CDF).
