Rainbow Cup 2025

Experience the Rainbow Cup: our vibrant and inclusive non-contact rugby tournament, celebrating diversity in every play! Bought to you by the Rainbow Griffins RFC, the Rainbow Cup promises to be a fun-filled day of rugby.

Register as an Individual Player for $30, or as a group of 10 players for $250. We also welcome donations to help fund the tournament in future years and sponsor individuals facing financial barriers so that they can participate.

What's included in the ticket price?

• Flag Rugby Tournament
  • Following T1 Rules 
  • Round Robin Style Tournament
  • No Playoffs 

• Awards
  • Players and Teams will earn points towards 'Webby Awards' for demonstrating the values of inclusivity and fun, named after local rugby champion Bill Webb. 
  • After every game each team will present a player of the match, who will get an adornment to wear until the next game

• Training 
  • All participants will get access to an online training program, developed in collaboration with Rugby Canada, titled "Rugby for All: Making Rugby Truly Inclusive" 
  • Referees will be required to take the training prior to the Rainbow Cup, and any players that have completed it will earn bonus points towards Webby Awards 

• Lunch 
  • We are providing sandwiches and snacks. You’ll get a follow-up email with a survey that asks about dietary preferences and requirements.

Where is the tournament?

• Crusaders Rugby Club 2214 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON L6J 7G7

Is there Parking?

• There is ample parking on site
• Transit options are limited; we encourage carpooling 

What facilities are on site?

• There is a clubhouse with changing rooms, bathrooms, showers and a fully licensed bar. Bringing your own alcohol is not permitted.
• Please note tap water at the field is NOT drinkable. Please come prepared with lots of water for the day. We will have additional bottled water and electrolyte drink available

What time does it start?

• Arrive for 12pm, rugby starts at 1pm.

Can anyone play?

• Anyone 16+ can play! Rugby is for everyone, and the Rainbow Cup is a mixed-ability tournament. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or it’s your first rugby match, all are welcome!

Will I be playing with my teammates?

• No! We are splitting teams up so that everyone makes new friends. You’ll be assigned a colour of the rainbow, and that’s your team for the day. You’ll get a follow-up email with a survey so that we can balance teams.

Will there be an Athletic Therapist?

• Yes! There will be Athletic Therapists on site for the day. Please plan to arrive early if you require any taping before the games.
