Need help?
We will be walking rare trails to look for and forecast seed timing for native plants and if they are ready, collect the seeds of native plant species during the late summer/ early autumn season. These can include Blue Cohosh, Yarrow, Solomon’s Seal, Large Leafed Aster, etc.
Instructions on species ID and proper collection will be provided during the event.
Recommended Clothing:
- Sturdy, closed-toed shoes and socks
- Layers of loose, comfortable clothing that can get dirty
- Long-sleeved shirt (that can be tucked)
- A hat is recommended
Remember to bring:
- A refillable water bottle
- Snacks
- Work gloves if you have them
- Sunscreen, insect repellent
- Rain coat (if in forecast)
We will bring:
- Seed collection bags/ envelopes
- Field Guides
- First Aid
Washrooms
- Since we will be walking the trails in remote area(s) of the property, washroom facilities will only be available at the start and end of each session at Lamb’s Inn
Safety Considerations:
- In some areas of the property there are hazardous plant species like Poison Ivy. On the event day you will be given tips on how to identify these plant species and how to best protect yourself.
- Please dress and be prepared for the weather in the cases of extreme heat
