Raw Umber Studios: Open Day (June 2025)

All welcome for a free portrait drawing class! Live demo, 1-1 advice on your artwork and view our popular gallery of visiting artists.

All welcome as we open our doors for a half-day of open studios involving a drop-in life drawing class and gallery! We'll start at 10am, but feel free to pop in and out whenever you like.

Never taken part in a life drawing class? Brilliant! All levels welcome. We will have easels, paper and pencils available during the portrait drawing session, but you are welcome to bring your own materials. A costumed model will be joining us for some dramatic portrait poses, surrounded by eclectic still life.

What can I expect?

Tutor Lizet Dingemans will guide us through a portrait demo, before providing 1-1 advice on your own drawings (if you like!).

PLUS. We're hosting a pop-up gallery of many of our regular visiting artists and tutors, featuring the works of: Hollis Dunlap, Lizet Dingemans, Luca Indraccolo, Nicholas O'Leary, David Shevlino, Lydia Cecil, Patrick Jackson, Anastasia Pollard, Charlie Pickard, Stephen Bauman and Cornelia Hernes! If you don't fancy drawing, come by for a snoop at our collection of incredible artworks.

If you're not sure about any of this but still fancy a snoop, drop by anyway. We have biscuits.
