SSGs & Developing the Physical Corner (Short Course)

PROGRAMME:
This 3-webinar programme is designed to deep dive the world of small sided games (SSGs) and how they can be designed to maximise the "physical corner" of player development, and run by Academy Performance Coach - The Speed Mechanic - Chris Chapman.
Programme Objectives:
• Provide learners with a greater understanding of small sided games and the physical corner
• Increase confidence of learners and their relationship with the physical corner
• Develop and increase knowledge of planning and designing their own sessions
The 3 webinars are designed to provide coaches with scientific and empirical data to support the physical adaptations that can be seen within SSGs.
Webinar 1 – SSGs: Pitch dimensions and rules
Learners will:
1. Analyse the effect of pitch dimensions and rules
have on player output during SSGs
2. Investigate how they can manipulate SSGs in order to achieve certain outcomes.
3. Look at what pitch dimensions provoke the most metabolic demands from the players and how coaches can affect the physical outcome for the players.
Webinar 2 – Position Specific Demands
Learners will:
1. Understanding the physical requirements of each position
2. Investigate the requirements of playing positions from a physical standpoint.
3. Analyse different position and discover key KPI’s that will help in creating objectives for small sided games.
Webinar 3 – Planning & Designing
Learners will:
1. Synthesise all previous webinars, analysing the planning and designing of SSGs with the focus on the physical corner
2. Investigate and explore ways in which they can produce effective sessions to enhance players physical characteristics
3 Utilise the knowledge gained to plan their own small sided games, clearly demonstrating an understanding of the physical demands they have on players, and also highlighting periodisation demands.
