Vancouver School of Communism 2026

Capitalism has plunged us into one of the deepest crises in history. On every continent, stability has been replaced by disorder. Regular people face a mounting cost of living crisis, while the ruling class makes more profits than ever before. It is clear to many that what’s good for the capitalists is awful for everyone else.

Unsurprisingly, faith in the establishment has collapsed and mass movements and revolutions have erupted in countries all over the world. From Europe, to Africa and Asia, ordinary people rise up to take matters into their own hands. The heroic general strike in Minneapolis proves that even the world’s largest imperialist power isn’t safe.

But so far, none of these incredible movements have solved the problems facing society because they have not grabbed the problem by its roots: the capitalist system itself. As the system descends further into crisis, even greater, more powerful mass movements are on the horizon. It is the duty of communists to prepare for these movements to make sure they win in the future, putting an end to capitalism, once and for all.

How do revolutions rise? What is the role of communists in this process? How can capitalism finally be overthrown?

We are holding the third annual Vancouver School of Communism to answer these questions, and more. With the school’s theme of revolutions, we’ll study the lessons of key revolutionary events and arm attendants with a strong understanding of Marxism.

Event Details
The school will take place in Vancouver on November 28 & 29, 2026. Location will be provided after purchase of a ticket.

Accommodations
If you are traveling from out of town and need accommodations, below are some options. All prices will fluctuate. Booking earlier will guarantee lower prices.

Ticket prices and communist finances
The base price of the ticket is set to ensure the event does not run a deficit. With inflation and the growing interest in the school, the costs of organizing such an event have risen significantly, particularly with regard to venue rental.

The base price for the school is therefore $60 for everyone. This price includes full access to the event over the two days. Lunch will be provided.

To maintain our political independence, our financial independence is essential. We have no big financial backers. We rely exclusively on donations from our members and supporters - those who want to see the revolutionary overthrow of the capitalist system. With this in mind, to help support our revolutionary activity and cover the enormous cost of this school, we encourage participants to purchase a solidarity ticket or make an additional donation when purchasing tickets. To help us build a communist organization in Quebec and Canada, we also encourage you to buy a solidarity subscription to our newspaper.
