Cultural Fluency Forum

Join us on Friday 23rd at Lumberjack cafe to explore how to navigate this often perplexing cultural moment with wisdom and discernment. 

Our Cultural Fluency team bringing excellent input this evening are Dr Andrew Parnham, Paul Leonart and Shunu Pellew. Our usual Lumberjack format with several short TED style inputs followed by table discussions and feedback. Refreshments provided.

As John Dunne said many years ago, no man is an island; and Christians are no exception. Our society impacts the church in many ways, some of which are subtle and unnoticed. Yet we too are called to act into that culture, as salt and light. Lesslie Newbigin gave us a two-fold challenge: to inhabit both our own story (biblical fluency) and our culture’s story (cultural fluency). This lies at the heart of our exploration of Cultural Fluency on 23 February and beyond. On the night we will reflect on historical, spiritual, and practical dimensions of culture and cultural engagement and a chance to practice your Jenga skills!
