About this event
We live in unprecedented times, a period of crisis within society, church, and individual believers. However, the church’s message of hope is indistinct or marred by unhelpful theologies. Christians seem to be losing confidence in their message too – some reports point to a 30% decrease in UK church attendance since Covid (Premier Christian Radio). Many cling ever more tightly to the Bible as the source of truth, but at the cost of giving 19th-century answers to 16th-century questions (NT Wright).
The biblical story is surely still powerful and relevant, but we need to rediscover its core - relationships. At the heart of the universe is the tightest relationship imaginable, created out of love for love. God has reached out to wayward humans by becoming one of them. Jesus’ death and resurrection accomplish reconciliation, not just for people, but for the whole universe!
We believe we need to rearticulate the ancient story for today. Could a relational message connect and break through, proclaiming a God whose passionate and inclusive love transforms our cold hearts and relationships? Join us for a day of teaching, prayer, and discussion as we explore the benefits of a truly relational theology.
