Sveta Ben & .K – The “Karova Belaya” Live Concert Programme

Fri 13 Nov 2026 20:00 - 21:30 Hotel Continental - Art Space in Exile, Elsenstraße 87, Berlin, 12435

Sveta Ben and Evgeny Kuchmeyno (.K) are Belarusian artists living in forced exile. Their joint concert programme “Karova Belaya” (Belarusian: White Cow) emerged from the experiences of the past few years from living far from home, the loss of a familiar world, and the attempt to find a new place in a changed reality.

At the heart of Sveta Ben’s songs is the human being and their inner world: fear and loneliness, love and closeness, memories of home, the fragility of everyday life, and the ability to preserve hope even where there seems to be hardly any room left for it. Her personal experience of forced exile thus becomes part of a universal conversation about what happens to a person when external circumstances force them to leave their homeland and build a new life in a foreign country.

Sveta Ben is a popular Belarusian singer, songwriter, poet, actress, and theatre director, and one of the best-known figures in the independent Belarusian music scene. Evgeny Kuchmeyno (.K) is a recognised musician, composer, arranger, and music producer from Belarus. Their joint album “Karova Belaya” was released in August 2026 and contains 14 songs from different years, to which .K gave a new musical sound as arranger, producer, and recording and mixing engineer. The album combines acoustic and electric instruments, electronics, live percussion, and sonic experimentation, and can hardly be assigned to a single genre.

On stage, Sveta Ben and .K perform “Karova Belaya” in a sound that comes as close as possible to the album recording, complemented by several Sveta Ben songs in new arrangements. It is a concert about loss and change – but at the same time about the human ability to keep living, to feel, to remain creative, and to find light even far from home.
