Open Mic & Practical Chat: Workshops!
Open Mic & Practical Chat: Workshops!
Need help?
Join us on Sunday 25 May from 11am - 12.30pm for some gorgeous poetry and lively conversation - come as you are!
We welcome all women poets (aged 18+) at any stage of their career. You can sign up in advance to read a poem or you can just sit back and listen before enjoying a good chinwag with our wonderful community of women poets. You do you!
As usual, we'll begin with our regular open mic – showcasing poems from our brilliant network of women poets – before diving in to our practical chat. The theme of this month's chat is: Workshops! You can workshop a poem to death, or you can bring it to life. Whether you love them or hate them, let's discuss the good and bad of poetry workshops.
If you would like to read a poem at the open mic, please sign up in advance here!
Priority will be given to poets who haven't read with us before, and we'll let you know if you've bagged a spot on Thursday 22nd May.
We'll keep a couple of spots available for sign ups on the day too.
WHAT TO EXPECT...
Please note, that once the open mic has started, latecomers will be admitted in the breaks between each poet.
11 - 11.05 am - Welcome
11.05 am - 11.45 am - Our open mic is one poem per person, max 12 line-up. We'll screen share poems for accessibility. Most of the slots are allocated in advance but we'll keep two spaces open for on the day sign ups.
11.45 am - 12.15 pm - Our practical chat is always lively and inspiring. You don't need to be an expert to join the conversation, your curiosity is more than enough! Bring your compassion and encouragement, and let's see where the conversation will take us.
12.15pm - 12.30 pm - Optional breakout rooms where you can continue the conversation in smaller groups. They're the perfect place to make connections with other women poets across the UK.
