Women Poets' Network: Open Mic & Practical Chat

Join us for gorgeous poetry, practical chat, and great company! Our regular Open Mic welcomes all women poets (aged 18+) at any stage of their career.

Once you've booked your ticket you can sign up to read a poem in advance, or simply come along to listen and join the conversation. You do you!

What to Expect:

11.00–11.05am – Welcome
11.05–11.45am – Open Mic (one poem per person, max 12 readers). Poems are screen-shared for accessibility.
11.50am–12.15pm – Practical Chat: a lively and inspiring conversation. No expertise needed – just bring your curiosity, compassion and encouragement.
12.15–12.30pm – Optional breakout rooms: a chance to continue the conversation in smaller groups and connect with other poets across the UK.

🔔 Please note: once the open mic has started, latecomers will be admitted in the breaks between poets to minimise disruption.

How to sign up for the open mic:

Once you've booked your ticket, you'll receive a sign up link in your confirmation email. We'll let you know by the Thursday before the event if you’ve secured a spot.Priority is given to poets who haven’t read with us before.
