PROGRAM OBJECTIVES AND DESIGN

The program is designed with 12 training hours that lead to a certificate of completion.

OBJECTIVES:

DAY 1:

1: Understanding my own reactivity 

  • Learn to identify feelings and needs and discover the NVC model.
  • Discover what language helps build understanding and what language creates disconnection.
  • Learn to listen to your own needs to avoid burn out.

2: Hearing my colleagues, clients, family or friends

  • Develop better listening skills so you can hear the needs and wants of colleagues and clients.
  • Practice empathy in real life scenarios. 

DAY 2:

3: Engaging in challenging conversations at work with curiosity and honesty

  • Learn how to better express yourself with authenticity, clarity and compassion.
  • Discover better meeting practices that allow everyone to be heard efficiently.
  • Learn to successfully address challenging conversations and situations.

4: Feedback and requests

  • Make clear requests.
  • Offer feedback that contributes to growth and connection.

The training is a highly interactive and experiential workshop delivered over two days in person. Lunch is included. The venue is TBD in Prince George.

THE TRAINER

Myriam is a CNVC (cnvc.org) certified trainer in NonViolent Communication based in Nanaimo, BC, Canada. She has a Master’s degree in communication, a certificate in environmental education and five years of training and sharing NonViolent Communication. She shares her passion for NVC with individuals, schools and organizations around British Columbia and beyond. Her dream is to empower organizations and individuals to build a more compassionate and sustainable world. She is also a dancer and a nature lover.
