The Department for Thriving Communities invites you to sign up for this multi-session course focusing on key aspects of membership and engagement. In these sessions, Rabbi Maurice Harris will present practical and helpful strategies to:

  • reach out to potential future members,
  • provide pathways for new members to get more involved,
  • make volunteering more enjoyable and sustainable for new members as well as established members,
  • take control of your “digital front door” and make it warmly welcome people to explore your congregation,
  • design programs that trigger spiritual growth and Jewish learning for members in ways that build “social glue” and support long-term membership.

In the final session we’ll dive into some of your questions and learn from some of your experiences. This course is based upon research Rabbi Maurice has been doing for a forthcoming Guide to Membership and Engagement for Reconstructionist Congregations.

Registration Information:

We’re pleased to offer this series at the deeply discounted price of $360 per congregation (up to five members of a congregation can take the course for this one registration fee). If the fee is a barrier, let us know and we’ll figure something out.
