iNaturalist wildlife recording training at Chester Zoo Nature Reserve

The City Nature Challenge is a global wildlife recording event which unites people in over 500 City Regions all over the world for 4 days of nature observation. For this training event ahead of the main City Nature Challenge, join us at Chester Zoo Nature Reserve for a relaxed stroll looking for wildlife. 

At this in person training to 'get ready' for the City Nature Challenge, we'll take you through the basics of using the iNaturalist wildlife recording app, which the challenge is based around. We'll be sharing tips and tricks on how to get the best out of the app, and recording Spring wildlife as we go. 

All are welcome - no existing wildlife knowledge is neccessary. We are also running a Webinar on 11 March and this in-person session is the perfect follow on, where you will be able to put your newly-learnt skills into action with support from the Chester Zoo and RECORD team. However you are still welcome to attend this session if you have not attended the webinar, as we'll make sure everyone is up to speed at the start of the session.

This is an IN-PERSON event taking place outside.

Accessibility: We will be taking  a slow stroll through Chester Zoo Nature Reserve and sticking to marked paths. We plan to walk for around an 1 - 1.5 hours in total as part of the session. This training session is aimed at adults and older children (i.e. those able to use the app on their own device), however anyone is welcome to attend (under 18s need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult). The event is free to attend and takes place in the free to enter Nature Reserve therefore you will not need to pay for zoo entry to take part. Please make sure you book tickets for everyone attending through Ticket Tailor as there are limited numbers.
