The City Nature Challenge is a global wildlife recording event which unites people in over 500 City Regions all over the world for 4 days of nature observation. Join us for a relaxed stroll around the Ashton's and Neumann's Flashes area, searching for and recording wildlife as part of our effort to boost our 'Chester Region' City Nature Challenge total. These reclaimed lime beds are unique habitats and we hope to notice and record the invertebrates, plants and more that are found here.
As we go we'll be using the iNaturalist app to photograph and record any wildlife spotted - it's easy to use and you don't have to be an expert to join in.
This is an IN-PERSON event taking place outside.
Accessibility: We will be taking a slow stroll around Ashton's and Neuman's Flashes and sticking to marked paths. We plan to walk for around 2 hours in total as part of the session. If you have any mobility needs or other additional needs please do not hesitate to get in touch with us ahead of the event to discuss (email info@record-lrc.co.uk).
We will be meeting in the Witton Mill Bridge carpark - please be aware that there may be a charge for the carpark. The walk is aimed at adults and older children (i.e. those able to use the app on their own device), however anyone is welcome to attend (under 18s need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult). Please make sure you book a free ticket for everyone attending. Details on the exact meeting point will be emailed to you when you book - please check your spam box if you've not heard from us.
The session is hosted by RECORD. Please email any questions to info@record-lrc.co.uk.
