Dusk wildlife walk along the Greenway, Chester
The City Nature Challenge is a global wildlife recording event which unites people in over 500 City Regions all over the world for 4 days of nature observation. Across the world people are working together to document as much wildlife as possible. Join us for a relaxed stroll along the Greenway searching for and recording wildlife as part of our effort to boost our 'Chester Region' City Nature Challenge total. As we go we'll be using the iNaturalist app to photograph and record any wildlife spotted - it's easy to use and you don't have to be an expert to join in. We hope to see wildflowers such as bluebells and cowslips, hedgerows bursting into bloom and possibly spot some of the city's nocturnal mammals such as bats, foxes or badgers.
This is an IN-PERSON event taking place outside. We will be meeting at the 'Vets4Pets' entrance to the Greenway (near the Northgate ponds) and returning there at the end of the walk. Details on the exact meeting point will be emailed to you when you book - please check your spam box if you've not heard from us.
Accessibility: We will be taking a slow stroll through along well-surfaced paths. If you have any mobility needs or other additional needs please do not hesitate to get in touch with us ahead of the event to discuss (email info@record-lrc.co.uk).
The event is free to attend. The walk is aimed at adults and older children (i.e. those able to use the app on their own device), however anyone is welcome to attend (under 18s need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult). Please make sure you book a free ticket for everyone attending.
The session is hosted by RECORD. Please email any questions to info@record-lrc.co.uk.
