Wildlife Recording Day at Little Budworth Country Park
Join us for a wildlife recording day at Little Budworth Country Park where we will be searching for and recording wildlife as part of our effort to boost our 'Chester Region' City Nature Challenge total.
We're looking for volunteers to help out with wildlife recording at Little Budworth Country Park. We'll be working in small groups to search for, identify and record native wildlife. Although some knowledge of wildlife would be helpful, you don't need to be an expert to come along.
What you'll be doing
- Looking for wildlife, e.g. bird spotting, searching for invertebrates etc.
- Helping to identify any species found using books and guides or your own knowledge
- Photographing species found to be identified later
- Helping to accurately record this information
This special site has woodland, lowland heath, ponds and mires. We hope to spot heathland specialist plants as well as insects like Green tiger beetles and maybe even lizards and snakes.
We'll be using the iNaturalist app to record wildlife as we go along to help boost our City Nature Challenge total - it's easy for anyone to use and join in.
This is an IN-PERSON event taking place outside.
Accessibility: We will be taking a slow stroll through the country park. If you have any mobility needs or other additional needs please do not hesitate to get in touch with us ahead of the event to discuss (email info@record-lrc.co.uk).
The event is free to attend and is aimed at adults and older children (i.e. those able to use the app on their own device), however anyone is welcome to attend (under 18s need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult). Please make sure you book a free ticket for everyone attending. We will be meeting at the carpark on coach road. Details on the exact meeting point will be emailed to you when you book - please check your spam box if you've not heard from us.
The session is hosted by RECORD. Please email any questions to info@record-lrc.co.uk.
