Do you know your Blackbird from your Blackcap and your Wood pigeon from your warblers? Join us as we take a walk through Caldy Nature Park, looking for, listening to and learning about the area's avian inhabitants.

This exciting early morning event is part of the City Nature Challenge, a global wildlife recording event involving more than 500 different cities. We'll be exploring the parks beautiful woodland, meadow and watery habitats to see which species are living here, whilst working together to record them on a free app called iNaturalist. No prior experience or knowledge is needed, just an enthusiasm for nature. We'll be joined by experts from Chester RSPB group to help us identify the birds we find and the Friends of Caldy Nature Park group will be there to share their local knowledge.

This is an in-person event taking place outside. Details on the exact meeting point will be emailed to you when you book - please check your spam box if you've not heard from us.

Accessibility: We will be taking  a slow stroll around the site where there are well-surfaced paths. There may be some steps and slopes. If you have any mobility needs or other additional needs please do not hesitate to get in touch with us ahead of the event to discuss (email info@record-lrc.co.uk).

This session is aimed at adults and older children (i.e. those able to use the app on their own device), however anyone is welcome to attend (under 18s need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult). The event is free to attend. Please make sure you book tickets for everyone attending through Ticket Tailor as there are limited numbers.

The session is hosted by RECORD, Friends of Caldy Nature Park and Chester RSPB group.
