Bat walk at Hatchmere
This weekend marks International Bat Night and we'd love you to join us to celebrate! These amazing nocturnal predators can eat up to 3000 insects per night - join us to learn more about them during a stroll through the forest and around Hatchmere Nature Reserve. Expert Tony Parker will be leading our walk and we'll be using bat detectors to listen in on the echolocation calls made by the reserve's resident bats.
The walk is hosted by Norley Wildlife Group and RECORD and is free to attend; although please note booking is essential.
Accessibility: We will be sticking to marked paths, however unfortunately the paths are not wheelchair accessible. Please note that we will be covering uneven terrain along forest paths, so the walk is therefore unlikely to be suitable for those with mobility issues. Please note that there are no toilets at the site. If you have any mobility needs or other additional needs please do not hesitate to get in touch with us ahead of the event to discuss (email info@record-lrc.co.uk).
This walk is aimed at adults and older children, however anyone is welcome to attend (under 18s need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult). Please make sure you book tickets for everyone attending through Ticket Tailor as there are limited numbers.
Our meeting point will be on Ashton Road, just outside Hatchmere village. Please find your own suitable parking along the road or in the surrounding area. More information on the exact meeting point and what to bring along will be emailed to you when you book - please check your spam emails if this doesn't arrive.
For any questions please contact info@record-lrc.co.uk.
