Owl pellets workshop (27 Oct)

Do you know your pellet from your poo?! Join us as we discover the delights of bird pellet dissection.

Bird pellets are regurgitated blobs of undigested food produced by owls, amongst other species. In owls, this often includes fur, bones and certain parts of invertebrates. Taking a look inside an owl pellet provides a fascinating insight into what the owl has eaten and can be really useful for uncovering information on the small mammals and other prey species found in an area.

For this workshop, we're joined by experts Natasha and Tony who will introduce us to owl pellets and guide us through identifying the bones and other items commonly found in owl pellets locally. You'll get the chance to have a go at dissecting a pellet and practice your own identification skills.

There will also be free hot drinks and biscuits!

This event is aimed at adults, however sensible older children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

*IMPORTANT* Due to high demand we are running this session on two dates (20 and 27 Oct). The content will be the same both times, so please only book onto one date.
