About the workshop

Most of us aren't looking for a diagnosis. We're looking for closeness. We want to feel safe with the people we love, to be ourselves and still be wanted, to stop repeating the same painful patterns without quite knowing what to call them.

And somewhere along the way, a lot of us got handed a label instead: codependent. As if our caring, our loyalty, our effort to hold things together was the problem.

Dr. Robert Weiss has spent decades sitting with that. He's one of the world's leading voices on intimacy and relationships, and the creator of a reframe called prodependence, a way of understanding our attachments that honors the love and effort we've poured into them instead of shaming us for it.

In this two-hour workshop, we'll look honestly at how we actually build healthy intimate relationships. Beyond the old language of codependency.

We'll explore:

  • What we're really searching for when relationships feel hard, and why closeness, not control, is the thing underneath
  • Why "codependent" so often misses the point, and what prodependence offers instead
  • How our earliest attachments shape the way we reach for love now
  • What it looks like to stay close to someone without losing yourself, and how boundaries and personal integrity make connection safer, not colder

This is for anyone who has loved someone hard. Partners, parents, grown kids, friends. Wherever you are, whatever your story, there's a seat here for you.
