About this gathering
Many of us know the serenity prayer well. Accept what can't be changed, change what can, and know the difference. The last part is usually where it gets complicated.
Dr. Kelly G. Wilson is one of the co-founders of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an approach that has transformed how clinicians, researchers, and many people in recovery think about change, values, and what it means to live well.
In this conversation, Kelly brings his focus on values, purpose, and meaning directly into the territory of recovery. His book The Wisdom to Know the Difference, an ACT workbook written specifically for people navigating substance use, draws on that same prayer and offers a path that works alongside any recovery approach you're already on.
Kelly's style is experiential, story-driven, and deeply human. This won't be a lecture. It will be a conversation, and you're welcome to bring your questions.
You can learn more about Kelly's book and download the free resources that go with it here. There's no preparation expected.
This gathering is offered on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of $3. If that isn't possible for you, you're still very welcome to join.
If you can contribute, please do. Every contribution helps us continue offering these gatherings without a fee.

Recovery Reimagined workshops and community gatherings are educational and recovery-supportive spaces. They are designed to complement, rather than replace, professional mental health care, therapy, treatment or an individual's existing recovery program. Personal reflection and questions are welcome, but participation does not create a therapeutic or clinical relationship with Recovery Reimagined or a guest presenter.
