About this gathering

Sometimes we say yes when we mean no, or soften the truth so someone stays pleased with us. When our sense of being okay depends on someone else's approval, honesty starts to feel risky.

Allen will explore how emotional dependency quietly pulls us away from the truth, with others and with ourselves. We'll look at the unspoken rules we place on people ("if you loved me, you would..."), the difference between sharing our experience and trying to convince someone of it, and what can shift as "I'm okay only if" starts to become "I'm okay even if."

Why your contribution matters
This gathering is offered on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of $3. If that isn't possible for you, you're still very welcome to join.

If you can contribute, please do. Every contribution helps us continue offering these gatherings without a fee.

Recovery Reimagined workshops and community gatherings are educational and recovery-supportive spaces. They are designed to complement, rather than replace, professional mental health care, therapy, treatment or an individual's existing recovery program. Personal reflection and questions are welcome, but participation does not create a therapeutic or clinical relationship with Recovery Reimagined or a guest presenter.
