Autumn (Part 1) Farm Experience

The experience lasts 1.5-2 hrs, please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before the session start time. 

Autumn is the beginning of our farming year, we will be selecting the Loaghtan to go in with the ram - each group will get to pick some ewes and number/graffiti them so when they lamb in spring you can find out how your ewe got on - The raddle marker (blue paint) will give us an approximate date of lambing so you can try and time any future visit with expected lambing day. 

The Grown up session on the afternoon ofthe 25th October will see the group putting raddle on the ram and setting him off on his annual task after their ewes are selected. 

We spend time with the goats feeding and brushing and we will have our last hatch until spring of chicks.  Our hens will, as always, enjoy being fed corn and although the number of eggs may have dropped off (eggs are seasonal after all!) we will be collecting and packing what we find, it is possible there will ba a limit on how many you can buy - we will have to wait and see!

The weather in Autumn can be 'fresh' so we recommend waterproofs as SESSIONS WILL GO AHEAD IN WET WEATHER, although rain with strong to gale force winds usually means a reschedule as that combo is just too tough for even us!
