Join foodies, local foods and farm supporters - and everyone else who just wants to be a part of an awesome experience on a celebrated Moorhead-area farm - for a two-part day of learning, eating and exploring.  

Breakfast with Beth (9-10:30):  

Join us for a delightful & relaxed morning with chef and James Beard award winning food writer, Beth Dooley at Doubting Thomas Farms. Beth has authored and co-authored more than a dozen cookbooks including, Perennial Kitchen: Simple Recipes for a Healthy Future. She will demo a simple egg dish while sharing what inspires her in the kitchen, tips for bringing people together over a shared meal, and how utilizing thoughtfully-raised, nutrient dense ingredients nurtures our bodies, and the planet.

Sweet & savory breakfast grazing table, featuring products from local farmers, ranchers, food makers, coffee roasters and chefs is included in the ticket. Book signing to follow.

Fun-filled Day on the Farm (11-3)

Fun and engaging activities on the farm for all ages where attendees will learn, explore and have fun at the farm! Adult tickets include a delicious meal from Heart-n-Soul Community Café, crafted with locally-sourced ingredients celebrating the abundance of the harvest season. Kids’ tickets include a sandwich sack lunch.

Farm Fest and Market

Welcome! All-day event opens at 11:00 am  

Heart-n-Soul Community Cafe Meal starting around 12:30 pm

11:20 am - Foraged Foods Cooking Demo w/ Candace Stock: Join local Indigenous Chef Candace Stock as she creates a tasty & nutritious meal from ingredients foraged on the farm! Her expertise in the field and the kitchen are sure to impress - and leave you with practical + delicious tips for you to nurture your family & friends at the dinner table.

12:50 pm - Farm-2-School: Sharing & Sampling: F-2-S champion Shannon Nowak and Director of School Nutrition for Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Public Schools will talk about her experience working and offer insight into working with local producers and staff to offer locally-sourced ingredients in the D-G-F school lunch program.

1:30 pm - Sourcing Locally Panel: Bjorn Solberg of Hugh’s Gardens hosts a discussion on the opportunities for local schools, chefs, and farmers to work together to strengthen our local food economy.

2:15 pm - Mulching Demo: Lonnie and Sandy Deitz of Whitewater Gardens Farm are certified organic farmers, utilizing regenerative methods of growing and in stewardship of the land, encouraging “life in the soil to grow healthy, nutritious veggies for our community.”

Nature Walk to Sunflower Research Plot

Farmer’s Market (get your groceries for the week as well as other locally made treats and gifts).

Guided kids activities with Aimee & Bill (12 - 2:30pm)

Collective art project, Photo booth, RDO barrel train, bubbles & chalk, flax swim pools, scavenger hunt, art-making, and more!

Breakfast with Beth <limited tickets available>- $30 includes chef demo and talk with award-winning cookbook author, Beth Dooley and breakfast grazing table featuring locally-sourced products. 

Breakfast with Beth + Farm Fest and Marketplace <limited tickets available>- $55 includes discussion with award-winning cookbook author, Beth Dooley, locally-sourced breakfast grazing table, Farm Fest activities, and meal from Heat-n-Soul Community Cafe. Come for breakfast, stay for a fun day!

Farm Fest and Marketplace - Farm Fest activities, and a meal from Heat-n-Soul Community Cafe for adults, sandwich sack lunch for kids.

Kids: $15 (5-10 y/o),

Kids 4 & under: Free
