Resolve Poverty Annual Conference 2026
Hope, Aspirations and Expectations:
How can we build good lives for all through local, regional and national action on poverty?

At Resolve Poverty’s 2026 annual conference we will be bringing together policymakers and practitioners from across the UK to explore local and regional action on poverty in the context of national policy developments, including the national Child Poverty Strategy.

We’ll be centering the conference on the role localities can play through practical interventions that maximise the financial resources available to households as the bedrock to living a good life. We will consider how local action can raise expectations for society, particularly children and young people, linking the anti-poverty agenda to realising the potential of people and places.

What to expect?

Day one 18th March: On day one we’ll be majoring on national policy developments and their relevance to local and regional action on poverty. Breakout sessions will explore a range of policy themes, including health, local welfare provision and housing.

Here are some of the topics we will be discussing:

  • How we can maximise the impact of the Crisis and Resilience Fund
  • The role of health in local and regional responses to poverty
  • The opportunities and challenges of devolution for addressing poverty
  • How the socio-economic duty can ensure tackling poverty is everyone’s responsibility.

Day two 19th March: Breakout sessions on day two will build on this, delving into initiatives that maximise household incomes and tackle debt. Keynote sessions will explore the centrality of these initiatives in supporting people to live good lives and realise their potential.

Here are some of the topics we will be discussing:

  • How do we ensure anti-poverty efforts bring people together in an increasingly fractured country
  • Maximising benefit take up across communities
  • Meeting the needs of families through accessible community settings
  • Local responses to debt

Booking for both days will allow you to get the most out of our conference. However, if you’re only able to attend one day and are unsure which would best suit your interests, please email us at contact@resolvepoverty.org, we’ll be happy to help you decide.
