Resonance brings you Solar Pulse, an ecstatic dance journey featuring renowned Canadian artist Apukuna on a special stop on his Canadian tour.

Known for his signature live remixes and masterful musical storytelling, Apukuna crafts experiences that invite both inward and outward movement. Guided by an opening meditation with Paz Ciuk and movement warm-up with Haley Dobis, Solar Pulse explores movement as meditation, expression, and connection through the universal language of music.

As we move toward the peak of light—the height of outward energy—how might we dance this together? With open hearts. Activated bodies. In celebration of who and what we are.

This ecstatic dance ritual is inspired by the sun... its SOLAR PULSE—radiance and restraint, dancing together, in motion, generating our fire... our heat.

What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a freeform, DJ-guided movement journey where the dance floor becomes a space for exploration, expression, and release. Through rhythm, ritual, and intention, participants are invited to drop beneath the mind and into the wisdom of the body. There are no steps to follow—participants are invited to move in their own way, at their own pace, within a respectful and supportive space. 

From this place, movement becomes a doorway—into personal inquiry, connection, and presence. Each journey unfolds uniquely, offering space to expand, to soften, and to listen. A moving meditation, and dance-floor medicine for the body, heart, and spirit.

Apukuna

Apukuna (Jon David Steinman) is a DJ, musician, and facilitator devoted to the art of movement and sound as pathways into connection, expression, and awareness.

Through a unique approach that includes live looping, remixing, vocals, and percussion, Apukuna crafts immersive journeys that unfold in real time—blending sacred and contemporary music into experiences that invite depth, play, and ecstatic expression.

Whether on dance floors, in ambient sound journeys, or breathwork sessions, his offerings always invite a softening of the mind and a return to the body. He calls his journeys “a movement, a meditation, and a prayer for an awakening heart”.

Jon David is also a singer-songwriter and experienced workshop facilitator, exploring themes of conscious communication, community-building, and food democracy. 

He regularly contributes to ecstatic dances across Canada and the USA and has facilitated dance floors and workshops at BOOM Festival (Portugal), Dreamersland (Poland), Ecstatic Dance Festival (Cyprus), Beyond Music & Arts Festival (Turkey), Wicked Woods Music Festival (Canada), Sonic Springs (Canada), Shambhala Music Festival (Canada), Lucidity Festival (USA), Lightning in a Bottle (USA), and Burning Man (USA).
