Resting Powerhouse - A One-Day Experience for Women Rethinking Work & What Comes Next. Rest Reflect Rebuild.
Step out of the noise. Work through what matters. Decide what comes next.
Rest. Reflect. Rebuild. A carefully facilitated one-day experience for women who want to think differently about their work, leadership or future direction.

You may be carrying an idea you have not yet acted upon. You may be questioning the way you currently work, considering a change, trying to reshape something you have already built, or simply aware that the direction you are moving in no longer feels entirely right.
You do not need to arrive with the answer.
You arrive with a question.
Across the day, you will be guided through the Rest–Reflect–Rebuild process: a structured combination of accessible embodied practice, individual reflection, facilitated conversation and collective inquiry.
Together, these elements will help you:
- step out of reactive mode and give sustained attention to what matters;
- clarify the real question beneath the immediate problem;
- identify the personal, relational and organisational forces shaping your choices;
- see your situation through new perspectives;
- establish what a purposeful and sustainable next step needs to honour;
- turn what you discover into a practical action, conversation, boundary or experiment.

What will happen during the day?
Rest
We will begin with a gentle, accessible embodied and breath-led practice to help you arrive fully and notice what may be getting lost beneath the speed and demands of everyday life.
This is not about achieving a particular physical state. The practice creates the conditions for a different quality of attention.
Reflect
Through guided exercises, you will explore a live question about your work, leadership, enterprise or direction.
You will consider not only what you want, but also what is shaping the situation: your values, capacity, relationships, responsibilities, assumptions, working environment and wider circumstances.
Structured small-group inquiry will allow you to encounter thoughtful perspectives without being told what you should do.
Rebuild
You will identify what matters in choosing your direction and turn your insight into purposeful action.
Rather than leaving with an overwhelming list of goals, you will develop a grounded next step and consider the support, boundaries and conditions that will make it viable.
You will leave with
- a clearer understanding of the question you need to address;
- a map of what is shaping your situation;
- your own criteria for choosing well;
- new possibilities and perspectives;
- a purposeful next action or experiment;
- a practical plan for carrying it forward;
- connection with a small group of thoughtful women asking meaningful questions of their own.
Who is it for?
This day is for women who are:
- reconsidering the direction of their work or career;
- developing or reshaping a business, project or purposeful idea;
- leading through change or questioning how they want to lead;
- feeling pulled between several possible directions;
- aware that their current way of working is no longer sustainable;
- ready to take action, but unwilling to do so by overriding their values, wellbeing or responsibilities.
You do not need to identify as an entrepreneur, have a polished plan or be preparing to make a dramatic life change.
You only need to be willing to give honest attention to a question that matters.

What is Resting Powerhouse?
Resting Powerhouse brings together embodied attention, research-informed facilitation, organisational insight and collective inquiry.
It was founded by Dr Gemma Lord, an organisational behaviour lecturer and experienced facilitator whose work spans the voluntary and charitable sector, care and organisational purpose, leadership, collective entrepreneurship and alternative ways of organising.

Gemma’s work is grounded in a simple belief: meaningful decisions cannot be separated from the conditions in which we live and work. The aim is not to tell women what they should do, but to provide a rigorous, supportive process through which they can understand their situation, recognise what matters and take action that is genuinely their own.
The embodied elements of the day will be led by a qualified practitioner, who will offer gentle and accessible practices designed to support presence, attention and reflection.
What this is not
Rest. Reflect. Rebuild. is not a yoga workshop, although embodied practice forms one carefully integrated part of the experience.
It is not group therapy, and you will never be required to disclose personal experiences beyond what feels appropriate.
It is not conventional life or business coaching in which an expert provides answers or a universal formula for success.
It is a facilitated process for understanding what matters, seeing your choices more clearly and taking your next purposeful step.
A different way to move forward
You do not have to force certainty.
You do not have to solve your entire future in one day.
Sometimes the most important movement begins by pausing long enough to recognise the question you are really asking.
Rest. Reflect. Rebuild.
Then take the next step that is yours.
