LEGACY OF A GOLDEN JEWEL
Since its chartering in 1975, the Reston (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has strived to make a meaningful, impactful, and positive difference by providing services to the African American community and fostering social equity in Northern Virginia. Guided by the principles of The Links, Incorporated, our chapter has maintained a steadfast focus on service and advocacy for social justice. The chapter’s primary focus has been serving women, youth, the elderly, and financially challenged families. Our chapter’s unique spirit and its commitment to arts, culture, and civic engagement provided the ideal backdrop for our continued commitment to accomplish its mission through award-winning community programs, scholarships, projects, and events. It has gained momentum, sharpened its focus, and expanded services to address the challenges and evolving issues through educational programming and other resources to uplift and benefit the entire community.
Our history is one of transformational service, commitment to creating lasting change by providing educational scholarships and showcasing several groundbreaking Signature Programs such as Youth Arts Showcase Explosion, High eSTEAM program, National Society of Black Engineers Junior Chapter, and AARP Are You Ready? Program. For 49 years, the Reston (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has been a beacon of empowerment and community service that has funded community service and outreach through profits from events such as the White Rose Jazz Brunch, Winning and Spinning, and other fundraising activities, as well as generous corporate and individual contributions.
