Part 1:  Marriage Rediscovery Weekend Marriage Retreat Information
The Rediscovery Weekend (Retrouvaille is Rediscovery in French - pronounced Retro-vi) is a transformative weekend experience focused on helping married couples reconnect and communicate on a deeper, more meaningful level.  During this retreat, couples will find a safe and supportive environment to rebuild trust, enhance communication, and seek healing. The retreat provides essential tools and techniques for couples to better understand each other and foster a deeper emotional connection as a couple and with their faith.  

The two-night weekend retreat begins on Friday evening and the program will conclude on Sunday afternoon by 4:00 p.m. and includes accommodations Friday and Saturday nights and meals for Saturday and Sunday through lunch.   Attendance of both the husband and wife on the weekend is required, as you will listen to presentations and then work on guided exercises together in private.  For additional information, please call 1-866-470-2243 and select the retreat you are interested in attending.

Part 2:  Rebuild with the Marriage Blueprint Post-Weekend Talk Series
Following the weekend, couples will participate in the Rebuild: Marriage Blueprint Talk Series, a series of talks designed to build on the progress made during the retreat. These talks help couples work on their communication process, understand family of origin and personality style differences, and clarify their values. Additionally, the talks reinforce the idea that love, forgiveness, trust, and commitment are decisions. Couples will also learn conflict management strategies, ways to increase intimacy, and understand the role of faith in their marriage. This talk series offers a comprehensive blueprint for designing a reconnected and resilient marriage.

The Rebuild: Marriage Blueprint Talk Series post-weekend are a crucial part of the program and are offered virtually or in-person on Saturday or Sunday afternoons for the following six weeks after the weekend or for twelve weeks on a weekday evening.  These sessions re-emphasize the communication process that is taught on the weekend. They are every bit as crucial to restoring health to a marriage as is the initial weekend experience. Therefore, couples deciding to register for the program are asked to commit to the whole program.

Part 3:  Couples Reconnect with Monthly Enrichment Meeting
The final phase of the program is the Couples Reconnect (CORE) Enrichment Program, a monthly marriage enrichment program that provides continued support and growth. This program, which is offered in person in several metro areas or virtually, allows couples to share experiences and support each other, discovering that they are not alone in their marriage challenges. Through mutual support and shared learning, couples can pave the way for a deeper, more fulfilling relationship. This ongoing enrichment helps couples recommit to each other, fostering a stronger bond and enhancing their relationships with other couples that are committed to improving their marriages.

Program Details
We ask for a non-refundable registration deposit to hold your spot. Please note that this is not the total cost of the program. On the Weekend, each couple will be asked to voluntarily contribute what they can afford to donate to support the cost of the weekend through a private donation. There is no set cost per couple, as the weekend expenses are divided among the number of couples participating. Retrouvaille is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and the only source of support is from couples attending the program. Donations are tax deductible to the extent that law allows and receipts are provided. No couple is ever turned away because they cannot afford the cost of the program, so if finances are a problem, please reach out to us.

When you register for the weekend, we want to ensure that both parties in the relationship have a desire to participate, otherwise the program will not work for you. We also want to assure you that at no time are you required to talk about your problems - not with the presenting teams, clergy, nor the other participating couples.

The Marriage Rediscovery Retrouvaille (pronounced Retro-vi)  was originally developed in French in Canada by Catholic couples, however, the program is ecumenical in nature and is open to all faiths. This program is about relationship building, however, Christian principles are emphasized on the weekend. Three couples and a priest/clergy member facilitate the program. The three couples have all experienced challenges in their marriages, so they are speaking about their lived experiences. The program not only saved their marriages, but helped them to rebuild the love, trust and forgiveness that had eroded from their relationships. All presenting couples within the program around the world have, in return, dedicated themselves to helping other couples just as they were helped. All presenting couples for the weekend and post weekend sessions are peer volunteers, not trained counselors or professional presenters.

If you or your spouse have an alcohol, drug, gambling or any other addiction problem, it is recommended that you get professional counseling are in active recovery before attending. We certainly welcome you into the program to help rebuild your relationship in other areas but we are not counselors and cannot help you with addiction or abuse problems.

We must also emphasize there can be no third party involvement in your relationship. If either of you is having an affair, please end it before you come to the weekend. You cannot honestly expect to work at your marriage while continuing another relationship. You cannot hope for a real chance at a successful experience. The only thing you could expect is to bring a great deal of additional pain upon yourself and your spouse.

The attitude you bring with you to the weekend is of utmost importance. You must have a deep desire to try to make your marriage work. You must come prepared to work, and work hard. This is definitely not a relaxing weekend! Nor, is it a passive weekend! We work very hard to help you and expect you to do the same.

Again, the program is not designed to promote a specific religion. Atheists, agnostics and those of various religions are respected for their beliefs and encouraged to attend for the benefit of their marriage. No attempt is made to convert anyone to a religion. Building stronger marriages is our focus. The ultimate goal of the Rediscovery Retrouvaille program is to help you to improve your marriage. There will be a Catholic Mass offered on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon, and all are welcome to attend, however, attendance is not required.

We hope you will not allow anything to turn you aside from this important decision. Often couples think that it's either too late or when things seem a little better, they judge they really don't need help anymore. We urge you to put aside both extremes of thinking. Please honor your instinct and stay with your decision to attend. Don't be lulled into some false reasoning because things may have cooled down or blown up. Please stay with your decision to work on your relationship. We will do all we can to help you.

We ask each of you to review the following statements so you are familiar with all the expectations of your upcoming weekend:

• Are you both willing to work at your marriage and to attend the weekend and post-weekend Marriage Blueprint talk series? Both spouses will need to attend and be willing to actively participate in the weekend.

• If you are seeing a counselor, psychologist or psychiatrist, we recommend that you inform them that you are attending the Marriage Rediscovery program, and that they are welcome to contact us if they need more information.
  
  
• If this is a subsequent marriage, we urge you to focus on the present relationship. You are going to attend to work on THIS relationship, not try to work out what went wrong in your previous marriage.
  
  
• If there are any restrictions or obstacles of a legal nature which prevent you from attending the weekend as a couple, such as a Protection Order, for example, they should be modified or eliminated before attending the weekend.
  
  
• Please let us know if you have any special health, dietary, accessibility, or hearing concerns when registering.
• If you are participating in a VIRTUAL ONLINE WEEKEND program, you will need an adequate internet connection, a camera, microphone, and ability to download the Zoom app.

Detalles del programa
