Tashih Al Tilawah is a 6-week course for brothers who want to refine and correct their Qur’an recitation, with a focus on Surah Al-Baqarah.

Whether you’re a revert or a lifelong Muslim, this course will help you identify and iron out your errors and recite with confidence and correct pronunciation, covering:

• Makharij: the correct articulation points of the Arabic letters
• Tajweed: the rules for beautiful, accurate recitation

What is Tashih Al Tilawah?
It’s a 6-week course focused on correcting and perfecting your Qur’an recitation, with a focus on Surah Al-Baqarah. You’ll work on ironing out errors and reciting with correct pronunciation, covering makharij and tajweed.

Brothers who want to improve their recitation. [should already be able to read Arabic.]

When does it start, and which dates does it run?
The course starts on Thursday 5th November and runs every Thursday for 6 weeks: 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th November, and 3rd and 10th December. 

What time are the sessions?
6:30pm to 7:30pm each week.

How much does it cost?
£40 for the full course.

Do I need to attend all 6 weeks?
The course builds week by week, so attending every session is recommended. [Commitment to the 6 weeks is required]

Do I need to bring anything?
A copy of the Qur’an, a notebook and a pen.

Do I need to know tajweed already?
No prior tajweed knowledge is needed. The course is designed to help you correct mistakes and build up your pronunciation.

Will the course cover the whole of Surah Al-Baqarah?
The course focuses on perfecting your recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah over the 6 weeks.
