PROFESSIONAL COUNSELLING (Semesters 5 & 6): Professional Integration Labs

Each semester, we host six (6)2nd Year Professional Counselling Professional Integration (PI) Labs scheduled outside of regularly held class hours.

As we have 3 statutory holidays this semester, ALL online Professional Counselling PI labs serve as designated Attendance Make-Up Labs to supplement missed class hours from college closures. Each 2-hour session provides 0.5 make-up attendance credit for an impacted course while offering high-level clinical reflection and peer support.

Stats:

September 30: National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

October 12: Thanksgiving Day

November 11: Remembrance Day

Each lab provides 2 hours and 15 minutes of required make-up time for classes missed due to statutory holidays when the college is closed.

As you move into advanced coursework, practical application, and clinical practice, having space to synthesize complex theory is crucial. These labs offer a dedicated, supervisor-led forum to step back from advanced academic demands and process your clinical growth.

Beyond earning make-up attendance, these labs are your opportunity to:

What to Expect

Each interactive 2-hour lab is designed around peer connection, high-level reflection, and practical application:

• Welcome & Framing: Ground into the session, set intentions, and check in with fellow second-year peers.
• Advanced Concept Spotlight: A focused exploration of a core clinical theme (e.g., therapeutic presence, managing complex client dynamics, ethical decision-making).
• Guided Reflection: Individual reflection to connect advanced course concepts directly to your emerging clinical practice.
• Group Case Dialogue & Breakouts: Engaged discussion, case-based exploration, or peer skill consultation in small groups.
• Integration & Application: Identify concrete mindset shifts, boundary adjustments, or techniques to bring into your supervision and client work.

Registration & Attendance

• Who Can Attend: Open to upper-semester students enrolled in our Professional Counsellor Diploma program and related advanced counselling coursework (Semesters 5 & 6).
• Registration: Required before attending. Registration closes 15 minutes before the start of each session. Ticket Tailor will automatically email your Zoom link upon registration and send reminders leading up to the lab.
