We have two separate topics in our Let's Converse Series for the Fall and Winter season. All students in all programs are welcome to attend.

We hope you can attend one or both events!

Let’s Converse Series: Ask Me Anything on Neurodiversity with Javelin Laurence

Fall Season - Saturday, October 17, 2026 - 10:30 am to 12:00 pm

This conversation will be sparked by anonymous questions submitted ahead of the event, giving you space to ask the questions on your mind without the need to speak in front of a group. Bring your curiosity, your concerns, and confusions, and engage in a warm environment where we dispel misinformation and seek a deeper understanding of the wide diversity that exists within human neurotype.

Explore anything on your mind, including but not limited to:

  • Details and definitions within the topic.
  • Socio-political implications and intersections.
  • Buzzwords and catchy headlines that may or may not be true.
  • Practical ways to support neurodivergent humans in your life and practice.

Javelin Laurence (they/them) is a trans nonbinary coach, educator, and artist based in Treaty 7 Territory. They are AuDHD, and work primarily with neurodivergent creatives who are seeking to make lives and careers that work for their unique brains instead of against them. They have a BA in Psychology from the University of Calgary, and received their Professional Counsellor Diploma from Rhodes Wellness College in 2024. Since then they have had the honour to facilitate numerous trainings on Neurodiversity and Gender Diversity with arts organizations and non-profits across the country, including developing a Gender Diversity Training series for the film industry in partnership with Spindle Films Foundation, with grant support from the Government of Alberta and the Canadian Media Fund. When Javelin is not facilitating, coaching, or making art, you can find them watch Bob’s Burgers on repeat, baking gluten free treats with a near scientific attention to detail, or mucking about in the garden with their partner and two cats.
