WHO CAN ATTEND:
All active Rhodes students from all programs are welcome to attend.
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
What happens when we stop thinking of the voice as something that needs to sound good, and simply allow ourselves to experience it?
In this experiential workshop, we’ll begin with breath, humming, gentle vocal toning and intuitive sound, exploring our own voices and the vibration we can feel within the body.
You don’t need to know how to sing. There is nothing to perform. You’re invited to become curious about your own sound, with space to participate at your own pace.
We’ll explore the voice as a tool for self-expression and self-care, a way to release tension, express what words don’t always capture and settle into the present moment.
Then, we’ll move from creating sound to receiving it.
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down and rest as you’re guided through a sound bath with singing bowls, chimes, drum and other resonant sounds. We’ll close with a few moments of silence and time to notice your experience.
You’ll also receive a short take-home resource exploring sound, vibration and the human voice as supportive practices for wellbeing.
No previous experience with singing, meditation or sound practices is needed.
