Come join us for some hedge planting sessions at Pope Lane Playing Fields.

Event Description: We will be meeting on site at the hedge planting location, where we will give a brief introduction to who we are and the purpose of planting a hedge at this site. You will then be planting hedging plants using hand tools such as spades, under the instruction of RRT staff. Our staff will be working from approx.10:15am to 2:45pm, however volunteers can stay for as long or short as they like. We will also be stopping for a break and a lunch during the session.

Location: We will be meeting on site at Pope Lane Playing Fields at the fenced off planting areas. The what3words address is ///twigs.takes.clocks and the grid reference is SD 57826 31450. Important Info: Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, as well as suitable footwear like walking boots, walking trainers, or wellies. You will also need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle, however we will be providing biscuits, tea, and coffee for everyone. In the event of heavy rain, the event will be cancelled and you will be notified via email, so long as you have provided this info when booking onto the event.

Difficulty: The site is fairly easy to traverse and mostly flat, and we only expect volunteers to do as much as they can, and if you get tired out or have other commitments you are free to leave early. Therefore, this event is suitable for most people, however because the ground can get very boggy, it is not recommended for those in wheelchairs/using crutches.
