Tree Planting @ Jamie's Farm

Fri 21 Nov 2025 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Skipton, BD23 4EH

Come and join us on the 21st November for a tree planting session at Jamie’s Farm (Haugh Field Farm) in Skipton.

Event Description: We will be meeting on site at the tree planting location, where we will give a brief introduction to who we are and the purpose of planting trees at this site. You will then be planting trees using hand tools such as spades, under the instruction of RRT and Jamie’s Farm staff. Our staff will be working from approx.10:15am to 2:45pm, however volunteers can stay for as long or short as they like. We will also be stopping for lunch during this session.

Location: We will be meeting at 10am at Jamie’s Farm. The what3words for the entrance off the A65 is ///forgives.outbound.uniform and the grid reference is SD 88349 55428. After reaching this side road, follow it all the way down to what3words location///haircuts.captures.flitting (SD 87742 54452). By typing the what3words address into the what3words website or app, you can get directions to the exact location, as there is not a straightforward postcode/address for the site.

There is parking available on a medium sized area in the farmyard.

Important Info: Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, as well as suitable footwear like walking boots, walking trainers, or wellies. You will also need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle. Tea, coffee and biscuits to be provided also. In the event of heavy rain or severe weather conditions, the event will be cancelled, and you will be notified via email, so long as you have provided this info when booking onto the event.

Difficulty: The site is fairly easy to traverse and mostly flat, the tree planting will be taking place on a slight rising gradient. We only expect volunteers to do as much as they can, and if you get tired out or have other commitments you are free to leave early. Therefore, this event is suitable for most people, however because the ground can get very boggy, it is not recommended for those in wheelchairs/using crutches.
