Ribble Riverbank Clean Up, at Howick Cross, Penwortham

Come join us on Saturday 11th April for a clean up at Howick Cross

Event Description: We will be conducting a community litter pick along the banks of the Ribble at Howick Cross. Starting at 10am with a safety talk and directions, we will then split into smaller groups and litter pick along the riverbank. Volunteers are welcome to leave when they need to, we just ask them to let a member of Ribble Rivers Trust staff know first.

Location: The meeting point is at the very end of Howick Cross Lane, Penwortham, PR1 0NT. The what3words address of the meeting point is ///spice.causes.rarely the grid reference is SD 49660 28881. By typing the what3words address into the what3words website or app, you can get directions to the exact location.

Difficulty:  The site is mostly flat, but may require reasonable mobility to get down to the tidal area of the riverbank. The ground conditions are often soft and muddy, so wellies or sturdy boots are recommended.

What to bring: Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, as well as suitable footwear such as wellies or boots. To help reduce the risk of bites, cuts and stings we also require volunteers to wear long sleeved tops and trousers. We recommend bringing a drink to have available after the activity. If you have work/gardening gloves, you may want to bring them.

Important information: If you would like to come along, please sign up to the event first. Once you have signed up, you will receive all of this information in a handy email. It also means we have all of your contact details so that, in the rare event that we have to cancel the event, we will be able to notify you via email.

Facilities: Please note there are no toilets on this site.
