The Riverfly Monitoring citizen science scheme is a national initiative to conserve and protect our watercourses across the UK though monitoring populations of river invertebrates (https://www.riverflies.org/).
The event is restricted to 12 people in line with the Riverfly Partnership guidelines, so early booking is essential! Once trained, attendees will be asked if they would like to carry out monthly monitoring at their own personal site (which we'll help you to choose) to understand the biological health of our rivers and detect pollution events (a monitoring session typically takes 1-2 hours).
If you are not free to attend this day, another option would be to compete the Online & Practical session on the Thursday 2nd July, more details here: Book your place – Riverfly Partnership Training: Online & Practical – Ribble Rivers Trust offices

- Introduction to the Riverfly Partnership - Why is collecting Riverfly invertebrate data important?
- Riverfly invertebrates as indicators of water and habitat quality
